On Cambly, you get paid every week through PayPal, which is quite amazing.

You also get to choose how much or how little you want to work as there are no minimum required hours for tutoring on the platform.

Magic Ears is looking for Native English speakers to teach 4-12-year-old children in China.

To be accepted as a tutor on Magic Ears, you’ll need to have a bachelor’s degree, or have proof that you’re actively pursuing one.

You’ll also need an ESL certificate but you can opt to get one while submitting your application.

Once your Magic Ears application is approved and you start teaching, you’ll be paid on the 10th working day of the following month through PayPal or Bank Transfer.

Much like Magic Ears, the students on QKids are between the ages of 4 through 12 and they reside in China.

On QKids, you’ll be teaching kids in group classes. A group can consist of up to 4 kids per class and most classes last for about 30 minutes.

Since you’ll be teaching young ones, QKids requires tutors to have a bachelor’s degree + a minimum teaching certificate such as TESOL or TEFL. (If you don’t have these, you can easily get one online)

You are also required to be eligible to work in the U.S.

The main way that Course Hero tutors make money is by answering questions posed by students on the platform.

You might be thinking… really? Just answering questions?

Yes. As a Course Hero tutor, you’ll only answer questions in written format and get paid (via PayPal).

StudyGate is a site that is primarily focused on helping students in North America and Asia with their homework.

To get accepted on StudyGate, it’s not required to have a degree, but you’ll be asked to provide some proof that you are currently a college student.

According to the site, some of the top-earning tutors make about $50 to $200 per question which equals upwards of $10K per month.

This site allows you to create a free tutor profile and showcase to students your personality, experience, and expertise.

When you set up your profile on Tutors.com, you’ll also set your own rates.

According to the site, most of their tutors charge around $50 per hour which is quite good pay compared to the other sites we’ve covered in this post.

You also don’t require a degree to set up your tutor profile on this site.

You’ll only need a high school diploma or a GED as there are many jobs there that don’t require you to have a degree.

For the tutor application, you’ll have to pass a Math test and conduct a teaching exercise before you can be accepted at Yup.

You’ll also need to have a good grasp of the English language and have graduated from an accredited University. You may also be accepted if you are currently a student in an accredited University.

Aside from the degree, EF also requires applicants to be certified teachers, meaning you have to hold a TEFL certificate to be accepted.

This offers a lot of flexibility and it allows you to be able to scale your tutoring business over time, unlike other sites we’ve covered that only pay a flat rate.

You are not required to have a degree or teaching certification to work on this site. You however need to be at least 18 years old and reside in the United States.
